The City Observatory on Calton Hill

This piece combines the historic setting of Edinburgh with the introduction of the city  observatory, marking the early development of astronomy in the area. The architectural  elements reference old Edinburgh, grounding the scene in its past, while the inclusion of  planetary rings, distant galaxies, and other space imagery connects it to  contemporary astronomical study.  I hope my drawing feels like a bridge across time - from early observation in stone towers and ancient horizons to the vast, ever - expanding universe - showing how edinburgh’s curiosity has always reached beyond Earth.
